On Sunday, November 5th, the Lealman Fire District’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser to benefit a former Lealman Fire District Chief who is battling cancer. The breakfast runs from 8am until Noon and is being held at the Tierra Verde Fire Station located at 540 Sands Point Drive. Advance tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the Tierra Verde Fire Station. Tickets purchased “at the door” on Sunday are $7 per person. Please join us for a great time of food & fellowship.

To understand the cause of the closure of the North Shell Key Pass in the context of the entire system.

Dr. Ping Wang, USF Professor, will discuss a recently released inlet management study by the USF Coastal Research Lab study on Bunces Pass and Pass-a-Grille inlets. Dr. Wang will focus on formation of Shell Key and subsequent closure of North Shell Key Pass and the erosion of the northern end of Fort De Soto. He will also discuss the causes of the inlet closure and beach erosion and various management alternatives developed by this study.
