SAVE THE DATE – Tierra Verde Business Partnership (TVBP) rolls out its Sixth Annual Classic Car & Truck Show and Taste of Tierra Verde from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at the downtown Tierra Verde parking lot, 1110 Pinellas Bayway South. Registration and set up begin at 9 a.m.

TVBP in partnership with Premium Productions plans an exciting day of as many as 125 classic vehicles plus music by DJ Tommy Tunes, food from local island restaurants and fun activities for children.

For more information on entering a vehicle in the car show, check out premiumcarshows.com.

Or contact co-chairmen: Bob Mueller at BMueller@onesourcemg.com and Nick Bralich at allkleen2@yahoo.com.

Each year, TVBP donates a portion of its car show proceeds to a local non-profit. This is made possible by the loyal support of the Tierra Verde Fire Department, a helper and supporter of the car and truck show by assisting in everything from set up to tear down.

So in 2017, it’s the pleasure of TVBP to announce that this year’s proceeds will be given to the Eckerd College Search and Rescue Team (EC-SAR), an organization that often cooperates with the Tierra Verde fire department.

EC-SAR is one of the most unique programs offered to Eckerd students, some of whom volunteer 15-plus hours per week to help “somebody in trouble,” says EC-SAR’s Ryan Dilkey.

The nation’s only collegiate volunteer maritime search and rescue team, EC-SAR has been assisting the Tampa Bay boating community for 46 years. Working closely with the US Coast Guard, 911 Emergency Medical Response and other state and local agencies such as the island’s fire department, EC-SAR offers 24-hour responses to virtually any sort of calls of distress, disaster or problems on the water.

“It can be towing in a disabled boat,” says Dilkey, “or responding to a fire onboard.” Last year, the students received 641 calls for assistance, helping 895 people and saving almost $6 million of property from loss and damage.

EC-SAR is funded through a variety of sources, with a large portion of its budget coming from the local community.

Enjoy a Tierra Verde style casual day and support local businesses.
